Shady Acres founder Bob Finkle was famous for his projects. His last project was to build a barn that would house a certified kitchen to be able to expand our Provisions business and have ample storage for produce from the farm.
Happily, the barn is nearly completed. The kitchen is fully functional and was certified by NY Ag and Markets in October 2014. As a result, our Provisions are now being sold throughout the states and orders are currently being processed for markets in Japan and France.
Bob never did anything on a small scale, so the barn is quite spacious with an area that can be used for special events. Its perfect for all types of get togethers ranging from meetings to wedding showers and of course, farm to table dinners!
The kitchen is available to rent for anyone with a 20-C license. Also, keep an eye out for our schedule of canning and baking workshops which should begin in mid-April 2015.
We are so excited and hope you will feel the same when you see it at our Barn Stand season opening in June.
